George Connell

George Connell

George Connell is a singer-songwriter from the Sunshine Coast of BC. His music has been informed from influences as traditional as Woody Guthrie and Tim Hardin and motivated by a passion for social justice. He is a relative newcomer to the scene and several years ago made the jump to full time after encouragement from fellow musicians and a push from friend and erstwhile baby-sitter, the late Penny Lang. After performing on the coast and supporting the cause of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, he was asked to perform at the Vancouver MMIW hearings. A portion of all sales go to Uplifting Indigenous Families.  His first album, Elephant in the Room, was released late last year, and the follow-up, I Protest, will be wrapped and available by the 2019 Festival…Music born of anger, crafted with love, and performed with passion.
